When School Is Called Off Before The Start of a School Day
When school is called off before the start of the school day, then Vacation Station will open the Snow Day site at Central elementary for our families enrolled in the snow day program.
The Snow Day Site will open at 7:00 a.m. to allow for the parking lots and school drives to be cleared of snow.
Please use the entrance located on the west side of the building. This is the entrance that is accesible directly off Central School Road and faces Hollenbeck Middle School.
What to bring with you to the snow day site:
- Students will need to bring a TOTALLY disposable sack lunch labeled with their name and site with them to the snow day site. We recommend using gallon zipper food storage bags for your child's lunches on snow days. Refrigeration is not available and microwave ovens may not be available on a snow day.
- If your child takes medication you will need to bring it to the snow day site in its original prescription bottle. You will also need to complete a medical authorization form and assure that doctor’s orders are on file at your snow day site.
- In order to participate in the snow day program, your child must be enrolled in the Non School Day Program.
Vacation Station snow day sites will be closed only when the Administration building is closed.
If you are unsure of whether or not your snow day site is open, please call your program coordinator’s voice mail to hear a pre-recorded message.
If your child will not attend on a snow day, please let us know by calling the snow day site so that we may adjust staffing for the day.
